What is skin cancer?
The three most common types of skin cancers we treat are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. We also more rarely treat less common cancers like Merkel cell carcinoma and lymphomas of the skin.
What do we do?
We do comprehensive head to toe skin cancer screening at your visit. We use special tools like a dermatoscope and polarized light devices to look in detail at moles and other lesions. We also will use photography to track some other these moles or other lesions. If something is concerning for a skin cancer we may do a small shave or punch biopsy to sample the lesion and see if it is a skin cancer. Dr. Nolan will also identify precancerous lesions like actinic keratoses and treat these by freezing with liquid nitrogen.
Dr. Nolan also has specialized training to treat cancerous lesions with small in office surgeries and other procedures to make sure the lesion is completely treated.
